FAQS
What should I expect when I first make contact?
For counselling, we will have a short phone call so that I can understand a little more about the support you’re seeking and answer any questions you might have. We can then arrange a first face-to-face meeting to see how we connect and feel about working together.
For coaching, I offer a 30 minute ‘discovery call’ where we can think about how you would like to use the coaching, understand your aims and objectives and start working out details around potential duration and frequency of the work.
How long do sessions last?
Counselling sessions for individuals and couples run for 50 minutes. Sometimes it is better for couples to have 80 minute sessions and if we all feel this would work better then we can extend the time.
Coaching sessions usually last between 1 to 2 hours. We will discuss this in our first ‘discovery call’.
How many sessions will I need?
This can vary hugely depending on individual circumstances. Counselling is usually open-ended, meaning you can come for as long as you feel it is beneficial. I usually recommend at least 6-8 sessions as a minimum, we can then have a review and see if you wish to continue.
Coaching is slightly different, in that we will usually agree on a set number of sessions which can be extended if you feel you would like more support.
How do I pay?
Counselling payments are due by bank transfer at least one working day before each session.
A set of coaching sessions are usually paid for as a total amount, by bank transfer, prior to the start of our work together.
Do you offer online sessions?
Due to the structure and nature of my working week, I have limited availability for counselling sessions online.
In contrast, coaching sessions are usually offered online with face to face sessions available by arrangement.
